Date: Saturday, October 8th, 2022
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00pm
Location: Duke Center for Living
On the last Saturday in April, we walk together as a community. Along the way, as we carry balloons with patients' names on them, people stop, talk together, and enjoy each other's company. Finally, we release the balloons. The Rainbow of Heroes Walk commemorates and celebrates all Duke Pediatric Transplant ans Cellular Therapy patients and their families. Refreshments, music, and activities for everyone are provided. The Walk is the main fundraiser for the Duke PBMT Family Support Program, but more than that, it is a reunion for patients, families, nurses, therapists, doctors, volunteers, and supporters who have come to know each other through the months-long transplant process. Teams and Fundraising
A team is a group of people with a shared purpose. At the Walk, that means supporting families who have gone through the transplant process. That support can take many forms. We are grateful that so many people have formed teams to help raise funds for the Rainbow of Heroes Walk and the PTCT Family Support Program. Teams are formed each year, with a designated Team Captain who assists with donation collection in addition to distributing materials and information about the Walk to potential donors. [Learn more]
